The Status Checker was originally developed for use with the U.S. Geospatial One Stop (GOS). It has now been expanded for use with any catalog of services. A catalog can participate by providing an ATOM feed of its services or by using the web service for immediate testing. The initial version of the Status checker only tested one version of the specification. This upgrade provides the ability for the Status Checker to test the service according to the actual version implemented. |

The Z39.50 service type is now available for testing. These services will be tested to ensure the service is running as well as text, keyword and spatial searches against the metadata collection. |

Catalogs who participate in the Archive mode of the system will now have their services tested multiple times per day rather than the orginal one time per day. This upgrade will provide the ability to provide more test data for analysis on the health of the services. |

New Catalog and Service Reports Released |

The Service Status Checker (SSC) reports have been upgraded to a new enhanced version.
The main catalog report that lists all services for each catalog have been upgraded to provide the ability to control the number of viewable services. Performance improvements were also upgraded for faster viewing in the browser.
The main catalog and service detail reports were both upgraded to share an optimized code base to improve future additions and customizations. |

A new dashboard report is now available to provide a summary of each catalog in a graphical and user friendly format.
The dashboard report provides a summary bar chart of all service types provided to the SSC system from the catalog's ATOM feed.
A service testing section summarizes the testing results of each service type.
Tabular results are also available to summarize the actual testing result values. |

All services are provided to the SSC system as a URL. These URL's are validated by the service specification rules as well as the allowed protocols.
The detailed report for each service has been updated to provide detailed information for those services that have failed the validation. |
